Atlantis loved the ocean, with all her heart and soul,

Her waters were her lifeline, a place to be whole,

She bathed in her beauty, reveling in her might,

And trusted her completely, through the day and the night.

But the ocean was a fickle friend, that loved her to devour,

For though it gave her life, it could destroy her with its power,

It took her off the map, and left her lost and undiscovered,

Laying under its waves forever, a fate she never recovered.

Her people were the first to feel the ocean's might,

Her lands were torn asunder, no more to see the light,

Her city, submerged, was hidden from the world she loved,

Her fate, a tragic one, something we've all been deprived of.

For Atlantis was a beacon, an inspiration to us all,

Her stories, lost forever, on the ocean floor, we bewail,

Her people, a myth, a legend, a tale lost to time,

A memory, that slowly faded, as the years kept on to climb.

But still, Atlantis loved the ocean, till it devoured her whole,

And though we may never see her, or hear her story told,

We'll remember her beauty, and the hope she inspired,

A tale of wonder and tragedy, that still fills us with desire.

And so, we'll keep on searching, for a glimmer of hope,

A memory of the lost city, and the people that once coped,

For Atlantis loved the ocean, with a love we can't ignore,

And we'll keep on looking, till we find her at the ocean floor.
