Searching for a Lost Heart

I'm driving myself crazy looking for your lost heart,
Trying to retrace the steps, back to where we did part,
But everywhere I go, there's no sign of you,
No trace of your being, no proof that you passed through.
I'm knocking on doors, asking for your name,
Wandering the streets, in hopes of finding your game,
But all I find is emptiness, a void in every climb,
A sense of loneliness, my only companion, in this time.
I wonder if you're out there, lost in the abyss,
Or if you've moved on, leaving only memories to reminisce,
I wonder if your heart is lost, forever gone,
Or if it's just waiting, for the right place to belong.
I'm searching for a lost heart, with passion and desire,
Hoping to rekindle the flames, that once burned like fire,
But time keeps ticking, and my mind keeps racing,
As I keep searching, with no end to keep pacing.
I long for the days, when your heart was mine,
When your love was enough, and the world was divine,
But now I'm lost, searching for what we used to be,
Grasping for something that's slipped away, so free.
I wonder if one day, our paths will reconnect,
And if our love will surge back, like a tidal effect,
I hope that your lost heart will find its way,
To the place where it belongs, to stay.
But until then, I'll keep driving myself crazy,
Looking for your heart, lost in the labyrinth, hazy,
For sometimes love is a battle, with no end in sight,
And sometimes, it's the chase that brings the light.
