Forgotten Verses

"I don't want to have to love you," I confess,
A heavy truth in the heart's duress.
I write and write, but you dont care enough to read
Leaving my lines alone to bleed
You skim past my verses, a fleeting glance,
In shadows cast, my verses lay,
Yet you don't read, they fade away.
My heart's own ink, my pen's embrace,
Tracing your name with tender grace.
But oh, the ache of your neglect,
A bitter truth, I can't deflect.
While I'm caught in this poetic trance.
I yearn for reciprocation's dance,
Yet find indifference's cold expanse.
I sculpt my lines, emotions raw,
To breach the walls that doubt once saw.
Yet you remain in distant skies,
Unmoved by heartfelt lullabies.
caring for one who remains aloof,
Is a stormy sea, a ship without a roof.
Yet beyond the horizon, others find delight,
In the words I craft, in the stories I write.
They embrace my verses, each line they hold,
While your indifference leaves a story untold.
It's a bittersweet symphony, this poetic art,
Sharing pieces of my soul, a fragile heart.
While you neglect the beauty within,
Others gather the fragments, let the verses begin.
I don't want to love in vain,
To tend a garden filled with pain.
A puzzle piece that doesn't fit,
A heart unsure where to commit.
I long to free this captive dove,
Yet still, I don't want to stop.
I'll keep my pen, my ink, my song,
In their embrace, I'll find where I belong.
Through the valleys of emotion, I'll stride,
With each stroke of my pen, I'll heal from the tide.
But until then, I'll learn to see,
That love's worth more when it flows free.
I'll find the strength to turn and go,
Release the bonds that bind me so.
No longer will I write your name,
No longer bear this hidden flame.
I'll seek a love that's true and free,
A love that nurtures, endlessly.
